In December 2010, Fingrid and Elering awarded a contract to a consortium of Siemens Aktiengesellschaft and Siemens Osakeyhtiö to construct the EstLink 2 HVDC converter stations in Finland and Estonia, forming part of an approximately €280 million package together with the cable supply.
