The EstLink 1 HVDC Light transmission system, including its onshore converter stations at Harku in Estonia and Espoo in Finland, was commissioned and ready for operation in December 2006. This marked the completion of converter station commissioning and system preparation, enabling power exchange between the Baltic grids and the Nordic system via the newly built interconnector.
