Erebus floating wind project export cable: a single offshore HVAC export cable (66 kV) of up to 49 km from the array to landfall at West Angle Bay, with OWC providing electrical network design and subsea array and export cable plus landfall studies during pre-FEED and FEED.
OWC acted as owner’s engineer and project development consultant for BlueGem Wind on the Erebus floating wind project, including the export cable and Pembrokeshire grid connection. Starting with a pre-FEED contract in early 2020 and extended by a larger FEED-phase contract in November 2021, OWC provided development-stage support covering electrical network design, subsea array and export cable engineering together with landfall studies, and grid management support. The firm also managed and procured geotechnical, geophysical and metocean surveys, contributed to onshore and offshore consenting, undertook project cost modelling, and provided integrated package and project management across engineering and EIA/consenting scopes. This role relates to the conceptual and FEED design of the Erebus offshore export cable and associated grid connection, not to cable supply or installation.
