Tekmar Energy Ltd. supplied cable protection systems (CPS) for the EnBW Baltic 2 offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea, located around 32 km north of the island of Rügen. EnBW listed Tekmar as responsible for the “delivery of cable protection systems” used to protect the project’s internal (inter-turbine) submarine cabling within the wind farm. The CPS package supported the construction and commissioning of the wind farm’s 33 kV internal cable network by providing mechanical protection and interface hardware at key locations such as turbine and foundation cable entry points and other areas where the subsea array cables required abrasion resistance, bend control, and impact protection. This scope concerned cable-related hardware rather than the manufacture or installation of the submarine power cables themselves. The work formed part of the project’s construction-phase supply chain for the internal wind farm cabling, helping to ensure the integrity and long-term reliability of the array cable system in the nearshore Baltic environment. EnBW identified Tekmar Energy Ltd. (Newton Aycliffe, UK) among the specialist contractors and suppliers involved in planning and constructing EnBW Baltic 2.
