50Hertz Transmission GmbH was the transmission system operator responsible for the Baltic 2 grid connection, transporting electricity generated by EnBW Baltic 2 from the offshore substation to the onshore Bentwisch substation near Rostock and integrating it into the transmission network. The grid connection comprised approximately 120 km of offshore (subsea) cable and approximately 16 km of onshore cable, with a total route length of around 136 km. The grid connection operated at 150 kV and was in operation when the wind farm entered service (commercial operation September 2015).
