On 30 September 2014, the offshore substation (OSS) topside for the EnBW Baltic 2 wind farm was installed on its jacket foundation in the Baltic Sea. After arrival at the offshore site, preparatory works were carried out, including aligning the topside (jacket upper part) into its final position above the pre-installed lower jacket section. Around midday, the topside was carefully lowered, and all four legs of the jacket upper part were guided into the lower structure and fully lowered into place. This “Touchdown” marked the first time the OSS was structurally connected to the seabed at the Baltic 2 site, establishing the core offshore electrical hub for the wind farm.
