Offshore construction at the EnBW Baltic 2 wind farm site began in August 2013 with the installation of the first foundations. Located approximately 32 km north of the island of Rügen in the German Baltic Sea, the project comprises 80 Siemens SWT‑3.6 turbines with a total capacity of 288 MW. Construction started with the laying of foundations in water depths of roughly 25–35 m, initiating the main offshore build-out phase at the 27 km² site on the Kriegers Flak reef. This milestone marked the transition from preparatory and grid connection works to full-scale offshore construction of the wind farm infrastructure.
