In July 2023, the ELWIND project received €18.7 million in support from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), providing EU grant co‑financing for high‑quality studies to assess environmental impacts in the Latvian and Estonian offshore wind areas and to plan the project’s cross‑border transmission connections and integration of the offshore wind output into the onshore electricity grid, including the Latvian export connection.
