RINA, in joint venture with the Tunisian subsidiary Comete Engineering, was awarded a public tender by ELMED ÉTUDES SÀRL (Terna–STEG JV) to undertake the marine feasibility study for the 600 MW Italy–Tunisia ELMED interconnection. The scope included identifying and assessing alternative landfalls and subsea routes and carrying out topographic, nearshore and offshore field surveys, including preliminary and detailed seabed geophysical surveys using instruments mounted on remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), to identify constraints and obstacles for the cable corridor.
