RTE Réseau de Transport d’Électricité was responsible on the French side of ElecLink for the land cable connection between the Peuplingues HVDC converter station and the 400 kV Les Mandarins substation. RTE developed the route, secured the necessary French permits and constructed approximately 3.5 km of underground AC cable to integrate the interconnector into the national transmission grid. This scope covered design of the land cable route and associated works, together with installation and commissioning of the 400 kV connection as part of ElecLink’s overall grid connection arrangements in France.
