Underground AC cable connection of about 3.5 km between the Peuplingues converter station and RTE’s Les Mandarins substation, constructed and installed under RTE’s responsibility.
On the French side of the ElecLink interconnector, Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) was responsible for the onshore AC cable connection between the converter station and the national grid. RTE oversaw and carried out the construction and installation of the underground HVAC cable linking the Peuplingues converter station to the Les Mandarins 400 kV substation, a route of approximately 3.5 km. This work formed part of the grid connection infrastructure needed to integrate ElecLink into the French transmission system, complementing the privately financed HVDC link through the Channel Tunnel and the UK-side AC connection to Sellindge.
