Following ElecLink’s commercial go‑live on 25 May 2022, National Grid ESO applied daily capacity restrictions on the interconnector under the Net Transfer Capacity (NTC) methodology approved by Ofgem via a C28 derogation. From 25 to 29 May 2022 ElecLink’s GB–FR transfer capacity was limited to 800 MW (with brief 900 MW periods on 28 and 29 May), and from 30 May to 6 June 2022 it was capped at 900 MW, even though ElecLink reports it was fully available with a technical capability of 1,014 MW in both directions throughout this period.
