ElecLink entered commercial operation on 25 May 2022, with the interconnector commencing commercial service from 12:00 CEST on that date. The privately financed 1,000 MW HVDC link through the Channel Tunnel thereby became fully operational as an interconnector between the British and French transmission systems, following completion of construction and testing.
