In February 2021, ElecLink commenced installation of its 51 km HVDC interconnector cable inside the Channel Tunnel, using a specialized 51-metre-long work train equipped with drilling, monorail, jointing and hauling modules to pull 2.5 km cable sections into the tunnel for subsequent jointing.
