First power from the EFGL 30 MW floating wind pilot is projected for Q3 2026 based on Principle Power's official "First power 2026" project statement on its EFGL project page. All three WindFloat T floating foundations with Vestas V164-10 MW turbines were installed offshore during summer 2025 and connected to their pre-installed mooring and electrical infrastructure; the 63 kV export cable was laid in October 2024 and the onshore civil works at the Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque substation were completed in 2022. Remaining work before first power is final cable pull-in and termination at the offshore connection point, turbine mechanical and electrical commissioning, and grid synchronisation to RTE's 63 kV network — a typical six to nine month window after all platforms are installed. A Q3 2026 target aligns with Ocean Winds' and Principle Power's public guidance of first power in 2026 to be followed by commercial operations by the end of 2026.
