In 2019, Lundin Energy Norway sanctioned the full electrification of the Edvard Grieg platform, including installation of electric boilers and a high‑voltage power cable link from the Johan Sverdrup field centre to Edvard Grieg as part of the Utsira High Power Hub, enabling the platform to cease using its existing gas turbine power generation system and switch to power from shore.
