By late March 2023, the electrification interconnector serving the Edvard Grieg platform as part of the Utsira High area solution had reached full operational status. Cable supplier NKT reported completing the power cable systems connecting six offshore platforms at Utsira High, including Edvard Grieg, to onshore power supply, enabling these installations to receive electricity from shore and deliver significant CO₂ emissions reductions as intended by the area electrification project.
