NGET and SSEN Transmission planned a Stage 2 statutory consultation in 2026 to present updated, more detailed EGL5 proposals, publish the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) and show how feedback from Stage 1, survey results and technical assessments have been incorporated. The consultation will cover refined onshore, nearshore and offshore routing, environmental assessments and proposed mitigation and will inform the final application materials for consenting. This Stage 2 consultation is a required step in the UK DCO consenting process and will precede any formal DCO submission for the English elements.
