NGET planned to submit a Development Consent Order (DCO) application for the English onshore and English-waters marine elements of Eastern Green Link 5 in 2027, subject to the Secretary of State granting the s.35 direction. The DCO would seek consent for offshore cable works within English waters and onshore HVDC and HVAC works in England; SSEN Transmission would pursue equivalent consents for the Scottish elements. The DCO application will be supported by the Environmental Statement and will follow statutory consultation and survey work.
