CMS advised National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) and SP Transmission plc (SPT) on the formation of a joint venture to deliver the Eastern Green Link 4 (EGL4) electricity superhighway. The engagement covered corporate and joint-venture structuring for the project delivery entity, supported by specialist legal input on data protection, intellectual property, regulatory matters and tax. The CMS team was led by Nick Blair and Vini Cowden with support from colleagues across corporate, data protection, IP, regulatory and tax disciplines. The advice related specifically to establishing the partnership framework between NGET and SPT to progress EGL4 through development and consenting stages.
