EGL4 is planned to become operational in 2033, at which point the project’s converter stations and associated onshore connections and substations will be commissioned and energised to enable bidirectional transfer of up to 2GW between Fife and Norfolk. This date represents the project partners’ current target for full commissioning and commercial operation, subject to consenting, procurement and construction progress.
