Lot 1- EGL 3 Marine Cable Route Survey - approximately 500 km route from Peterhead to Lincolnshire. Scope: geophysical (MBES/SSS/SBP/magnetometer), benthic grab samples, geotechnical CPT/VC and lab testing, UAV imagery, data analysis and full survey reports.
Next Geosolutions was awarded the marine survey contract to deliver route characterisation surveys for Eastern Green Link 3 (EGL3). The contract covered a comprehensive marine survey package for the EGL3 cable route between Peterhead and Lincolnshire, including high-resolution bathymetry (MBES), side-scan sonar (SSS), sub‑bottom profiling (SBP), magnetometry, benthic grab sampling and imagery, geotechnical sampling (CPT and vibrocore), laboratory testing, UAV imagery, data analysis and delivery of GIS and full survey reports. The survey data were used to inform route engineering, burial feasibility, identification of obstacles (including potential UXO), and the environmental assessments supporting the project consenting process. The work delivered technical datasets required for detailed route design and the Preliminary Environmental Information/Marine Environmental Appraisal.
