Public Consultation

In April 2026, National Grid launched its targeted public consultation on proposed works within additional land areas identified as necessary to build Eastern Green Link 3 and Eastern Green Link 4, including land for environmental mitigation. The consultation is hosted at nationalgrid.com/egl3andegl4 with a video presentation and feedback channel, and focuses on newly included parcels near the cable route and converter station locations so the applicants can finalise the projects' proposals ahead of the joint Development Consent Order application. The targeted-consultation format has drawn significant community criticism in affected parishes: local residents and community groups have publicly stated that the approach limits meaningful input on the additional land identified since earlier consultation stages, with campaigners describing the process as leaving communities 'kept in the dark' on the expanded proposals.
