National Grid Electricity Transmission expects to submit a joint Development Consent Order (DCO) application for Eastern Green Link 3 (combined with EGL4) to the Planning Inspectorate in August 2026. The proposed DCO will seek powers to construct, operate and maintain the HVDC links and associated onshore/offshore works, and will include the Environmental Statement, compulsory acquisition powers and any deemed marine licences required for the project.
