SSEN Transmission stated that onshore cable installation works for Eastern Green Link 3 will not begin until the Marine Licence for the offshore works has been approved; the developers scheduled submission of the Marine Licence application in August 2025 with an anticipated determination by October 2026. Subject to a successful marine licence determination, the onshore underground cable installation (ducting, trenching, joint bays, cable pulling, reinstatement and any HDD crossing works) is planned to begin no earlier than 2028.
