National Grid stated that during the operational phase of Eastern Green Link 3 periodic subsea inspection surveys, including geophysical surveys, may be required to monitor the HVDC subsea cable condition and seabed interactions. These surveys will be used to identify exposure, burial depth changes or third‑party interactions along the ~436 km subsea route to inform any remedial works or reburial. Surveys are described as periodic activities to be undertaken during operation once the project is in service (operations expected around late 2033).
