ABL has been awarded and will manage the project. ABL will provide technical review and approval of project and procedural documentation, suitability surveys of the fleet proposed for the marine transportation and installation (T&I) operations, including DP assurance where required. Cable laying operations are expected to commence in January 2028 and to run through to September the same year.
ABL Group ASA was appointed by Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) to provide marine warranty survey (MWS) services to support the installation phase of the project. The contract covered technical review and approval of project and procedural documentation, suitability surveys of the proposed fleet for marine transportation and installation (including dynamic positioning assurance where required), review and approval of warranted operations and on-site attendances to witness and certify critical marine works. The appointment was intended to provide the independent marine assurance required by the project and its insurers to enable cable transportation and laying operations scheduled for early–late 2028.
