In 2017, EirGrid Interconnector DAC conducted a public/stakeholder consultation on the Access Rules and Charging Methodology for the East West Interconnector (EWIC). The consultation invited views from interested parties on proposed rule changes needed to support the transition to the Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM), the introduction of Financial Transmission Rights, and alignment with the Harmonised Allocation Rules. It also sought feedback on the continued applicability of the existing Moyle and East West Interconnector Access Rules and charging methodology up to the I-SEM go-live date. To support stakeholder engagement, EirGrid Interconnector DAC published a joint EWIC and Moyle Draft Access Rules and Charging Methodology Consultation Paper 2017, along with Draft Access Rules v5 and a Draft Charging Methodology Statement v3 marked specifically as consultation documents.
