During Quarter 2 2012, all AC and DC land cable ducting and cable installation for the East West Interconnector were completed in both Ireland and Wales, marking a major project milestone. The full Irish land cable route of 44,437 m and the Welsh route of 30,085 m reached 100% completion, including ducting, cable installation, jointing, bentonite filling, and associated fibre optic cable works and splice boxes.
