DELAYED +11mo (Apr 2026): Multiple official and high-authority sources (including ScottishPower Renewables and Iberdrola project pages and a January 2026 Businesswire/Accenture BOSLAN press release) continue to state that East Anglia TWO is expected to become operational in 2028, without specifying a month. However, the 4 December 2024 Nexans export cable contract announcement (via Offshorewind.biz) clarifies that export cable installation will occur across 2027 and 2028, with the cable project set for completion by the end of 2028. Since full-power commercial operation of the wind farm and its transmission system depends on completion and commissioning of the export cables, a 1 January 2028 full-power date is inconsistent with the updated cable timeline. The commercial operations (full power) milestone is therefore adjusted to late 2028 (approximate 31 December 2028) to remain within the developer-stated "in 2028" window while reflecting the end-2028 cable completion schedule. --- East Anglia TWO, including its 275kV subsea export cables, onshore transmission works and grid connection, is planned to reach full commercial operation by 2028, following cable installation and wider construction activities scheduled for 2027–2028. Completion of the project by the end of 2028 will enable up to 960MW of offshore wind generation to be exported into the UK national grid in line with national renewable energy targets.
