On 10 May 2021, Eoliennes en Mer de Dunkerque (EMD), developer of the Dunkirk offshore wind farm, and French TSO RTE, responsible for the project’s grid connection, announced their joint decision to move ahead with the development phase of the Dunkirk wind farm and its offshore grid connection following a series of public debates held between September and December 2020. This marks the formal progression of both the wind farm and the Dunkerque Export transmission assets, for which RTE is lead developer, into detailed development activities including permitting and further technical and environmental work.
