110 kV submarine cable replacement on the Postira (Brač) – Dugi Rat section, in the length of 7,300 metres, as part of HOPS’s 110 kV submarine cables replacement project.
KONČAR - Engineering held the main construction contract for the first two stages of the Croatian Transmission System Operator’s 110 kV submarine cable replacement programme, which includes the 110 kV Dugi Rat – Postira island-link. The programme aims to replace ageing submarine connections to Adriatic islands with new XLPE-insulated 110 kV cables and is fully financed under Croatia’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021–2026. Project execution commenced with laying the first new submarine cable on the Postira (Brač) – Dugi Rat section, a 7.3 km 110 kV HVAC link connecting the mainland grid near Split to the substation at Postira on Brač. KONČAR’s contract for the first two stages was valued at HRK 91 million and covered turnkey delivery of the new submarine cable systems, including offshore installation activities, within a wider six-section investment programme scheduled to complete by 2024.
