On 1 July 2014, the developers of the 402MW Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm off the North Norfolk coast announced that they had taken Final Investment Decision (FID), enabling construction of the fully consented project to proceed. The UK government press release notes this milestone would unlock around £1.5 billion of investment, support up to 450 jobs, and allow the wind farm—located 32km off Cromer—to move from development into delivery, while the project’s decommissioning programme confirms that FID was undertaken in July 2014.
