Installation and burial of two 42 km 132 kV subsea export cables between the Dudgeon offshore substation and the Weybourne landfall ducts, including HDD landfall works.
Visser & Smit Marine Contracting B.V. was awarded an Export Cable Installation (EPCI) contract by Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited covering inter‑array cables and the installation of the submarine export cables for the Dudgeon project. For the transmission export system that became the Dudgeon OFTO assets, VSMC carried out two 1,100 m horizontal directional drillings at the Weybourne landfall, then installed and buried the two 42 km 132 kV HVAC subsea export cables between the offshore substation and the pre‑drilled ducts at shore, using a cable‑lay vessel loaded in Karlskrona. The works included pull‑ins, terminations and testing at the offshore substation end, forming the offshore export links in the 89 km twin‑circuit route to the Necton 400 kV substation.
