Full subsea survey of the Dudgeon export cable route between the offshore substation and landfall, assessing burial status and external risk along approximately 42 km of 132 kV HVAC submarine cables.
GEO-4D serves as the OFTO geoscience provider to TC Dudgeon OFTO plc, delivering subsea survey and assessment services for the Dudgeon export cable system during operations. In 2023, GEO-4D completed a full subsea survey of the export cable route and reported on burial depth, seabed conditions, and third‑party interaction risks, including vessel traffic and fishing activity. Their analysis confirmed that the subsea route is stable with very low external interference risk, supporting the OFTO’s decision to limit further intervention to routine repeat surveys on a three‑year cycle as part of the ongoing cable integrity and risk management programme.
