The Dudgeon Extension Offshore Wind Farm, a 402MW offshore wind project in the North Sea off the coast of North Norfolk, is planned to reach full commercial operation by 2029. The project is being developed in a single phase over an area of about 103.5km², with 30 turbines on fixed foundations interconnected by 66kV inter-array cables. It is co-owned by China Resources (Holdings), Equinor and Masdar Offshore Wind UK, each holding a 33.33 percent stake, and is currently described as being at the permitting or under-development stage in public information sources. According to GlobalData’s profile, construction of the extension is likely to commence in 2025, with the wind farm expected to enter commercial operation in 2029. Masdar’s project page similarly states that the Dudgeon Extension is expected to be fully operational in the late 2020s, which is consistent with a 2029 commercial operations date. These statements collectively indicate that 2029 is the target year for achieving full operational status and revenue-generating service, rather than merely initial power export or commissioning. The projected 2029 commercial operations milestone will mark the point at which the Dudgeon Extension is operating at its intended capacity and fully integrated into the UK power system. Until then, the project partners will focus on completing development, securing and maintaining necessary permits, and executing the offshore construction programme starting around 2025 so that commissioning and ramp-up can be completed in time for late-2020s full operation.
