Hellenic Cables manufactured three 155 kV HVAC grid connection cables with a total length of about 37 km at its submarine cable plant in Corinth, Greece, for installation between the Nordseecluster 1 and 2 offshore wind farm locations and the DolWin kappa platform in the DolWin6 project.
Hellenic Cables partnered with Jan De Nul to provide the AC grid connection cables linking the Nordseecluster 1 and 2 offshore wind farms to TenneT’s DolWin kappa offshore converter platform within the DolWin6 connection system. Under this contract, Hellenic Cables undertook the design and manufacture of three 155 kV HVAC submarine power cables with a combined length of around 37 km at its vertically integrated submarine cable plant in Corinth, Greece. The cables were then transported by Jan De Nul’s cable-laying vessel Isaac Newton for offshore installation, burial and protection. These AC export cables enable the transfer of nearly 660 MW of renewable power from Nordseecluster 1 and 2 into the DolWin6 HVDC link to shore.
