In spring 2021, TenneT began foundation works for the DolWin5 onshore converter station at Emden/East, marking the start of onshore construction for the 900 MW HVDC grid connection that converts power from the DolWin epsilon offshore platform back to AC and feeds it into the extra‑high‑voltage grid.
