Prysmian has been playing a leading role in the development of offshore wind farms in Europe, with a strong track record including the realisation of high voltage submarine and land cable solutions for major projects like BorWin2 and Borwin3, Helwin1 and Helwin2, SylWin1, Dolwin3, West of Adlergrund.
Prysmian Group supplied the high-voltage cable system for TenneT’s 900 MW DolWin3 offshore grid connection. The company realised the submarine and land power cable solution linking the offshore converter platform DolWin gamma in the German North Sea to the onshore converter station at Dörpen/West. Its scope covered the design and manufacture of the ±320 kV HVDC export cables, together with installation and commissioning of the subsea and underground sections along the approximately 161 km bipole route. This role formed part of the construction phase of DolWin3 and included both offshore and onshore export cable links for the grid connection system.
