Fugro was awarded a contract by RWE and Masdar to undertake a detailed geotechnical seabed survey at the Dogger Bank South (DBS) West offshore wind farm site. The campaign (May to October 2024) used three vessels (Fugro Quest, Fugro Voyager and Normand Mermaid) to characterise ground conditions below the seabed at proposed turbine and offshore platform foundation locations, and along inter-array cable routes, using cone penetration tests (CPTs) and sampling boreholes, with subsequent laboratory testing in the UK. The geo-data was intended to inform foundation and array cable design during project development.
