Following the July 2022 Scoping Report submission, the UK Planning Inspectorate issued its Scoping Opinion in September 2022 for the Dogger Bank South (DBS) offshore wind projects, including Dogger Bank South West. The Opinion set out the regulator's view on the scope and methodology RWE should adopt for the Environmental Impact Assessment and associated documentation, effectively defining the envelope for subsequent environmental studies and impact assessments for the 1.5 GW Dogger Bank South West western array. As DBS West is being consented under the same joint DCO as DBS East under PINS reference EN010125, this Scoping Opinion provides RWE with clarity on the range of environmental, technical, and cumulative impacts that must be addressed in detail, informing the structure of the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) and the eventual Development Consent application.
