In July 2022, RWE submitted a Scoping Report for the Dogger Bank South (DBS) offshore wind projects, comprising the Dogger Bank South West and Dogger Bank South East sites, to the UK Planning Inspectorate. For Dogger Bank South West, the Scoping Report set out proposed parameters for the 1.5 GW western array more than 100 km off the North Yorkshire coast and identified the environmental and technical topics requiring assessment within the forthcoming Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Development Consent Order (DCO) application. The submission marked the transition from initial project definition into formal engagement with the UK's nationally significant infrastructure planning regime under PINS reference EN010125, laying the groundwork for later consultation phases, the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR), and ultimately the planned Development Consent application. As DBS West is being consented under the same joint DCO as DBS East, this scoping submission applies equally to both sites.
