The Development Consent Order (DCO) decision for the Dogger Bank South Offshore Wind Farms, comprising Dogger Bank South West and Dogger Bank South East, is currently scheduled to be made by 14 May 2026. According to the Planning Inspectorate project page, the scheme is at the decision stage and the Secretary of State has formally reset the statutory deadline for determining the DCO application to this date under section 107(7) of the Planning Act 2008. The project page explicitly notes that the date set for completion of the decision process is 14 May 2026, confirming this as the latest target for a final planning consent decision rather than confirming that consent has already been granted. [1][2] This deadline follows an earlier extension: on 7 January 2026 the UK government had reset the final determination deadline to 30 April 2026, as reported by the project partners RWE and Masdar, who expressed disappointment at the delay but confirmed they would continue to work with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and other stakeholders to progress the 3 GW Dogger Bank South projects. [3] Subsequent updates on the Planning Inspectorate site show ongoing consultation by the Secretary of State in February and March 2026 and publication of stakeholder responses, culminating in the 26 March 2026 decision to further reset the statutory deadline to 14 May 2026. [2] This projected date therefore represents the current expected timing for a grant or refusal of the overarching planning consent for Dogger Bank South West within the combined DCO.
