Fugro was awarded a contract by the Dogger Bank South developers RWE and Masdar to perform comprehensive geotechnical surveys for the eastern array of the Dogger Bank South offshore wind farms (DBS East). The work covered investigations at planned wind turbine locations, inter-array cable routes, and offshore platform foundation locations around 122 km off the northeast coast of England, using techniques including CPTs, vibrocores and sampling boreholes and mobilising multiple geotechnical vessels. Fugro subsequently completed the geotechnical site investigations for the eastern array and moved into laboratory testing and reporting to support foundation and platform design decisions.
