Onshore construction for Dogger Bank South East cannot realistically start before the project-wide DCO is granted; the Planning Inspectorate project page (EN010125) shows the statutory decision deadline reset to 14 May 2026. Subject to a positive consent decision and subsequent FID, RWE and Masdar have indicated that construction could commence in the 2026/2027 window, with onshore enabling works expected to begin first as the shared onshore export corridor (landfall near Skipsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, to onshore converter stations near Bentley and onward to the Birkhill Wood National Grid substation near Creyke Beck) serves both DBS East and DBS West under the joint DCO. Year-end 2026 is used as a placeholder target for late-2026 onshore enabling works on DBS East; this should be refined or superseded if developers publish a tighter indication or if DCO/FID slippage shifts the construction timeline. As the onshore corridor is shared with DBS West, this projection mirrors the equivalent DBS West projection.
