By June 2025, Dogger Bank D had selected a landfall southeast of Skipsea on the Holderness coast and a 55 km onshore export cable corridor in two trenches from a transition joint bay at the landfall to National Grid’s planned Birkhill Wood substation, choosing this route based on suitable cliff height, lower environmental and engineering risks, and the ability to minimise impacts on nearby marine protected areas.
