On 26 August 2025, SSE and Equinor finalised and executed an amended seabed lease with The Crown Estate for Dogger Bank D, allowing the 50:50 joint venture to maximise generation from the eastern portion of the Dogger Bank C lease area with a proposed fourth phase of up to 1.5 GW using as many as 113 fixed-bottom turbines, up to two offshore substations and associated export and inter-array cabling to onshore infrastructure in East Riding of Yorkshire.
