NKT contracted as main contractor to manufacture, deliver and install 320 kV HVDC onshore and offshore export cable systems for Dogger Bank C, comprising more than 2×250 km total system length of export power cables and accessories between the offshore converter platform and the onshore converter station near Teesside.
NKT was appointed as main contractor to deliver and install the high-voltage DC export cable systems for Dogger Bank C, the third phase of the Dogger Bank wind farm. Under a preferred supplier agreement confirmed as a firm contract on 30 June 2021, NKT is responsible for manufacturing, supplying and installing the 320 kV HVDC offshore and onshore export power cables and accessories that connect the Dogger Bank C offshore converter platform to the onshore converter station and grid connection near Teesside. The scope includes more than two parallel export cables along a route of around 270 km, using low‑carbon copper manufactured at NKT’s Karlskrona plant in Sweden, with installation performed by the cable-laying vessel NKT Victoria. Manufacturing started in 2022 with commissioning scheduled around 2026, covering the construction phase of the offshore transmission system that will later be transferred to the TR13 Dogger Bank C OFTO owner.
