320kV HVDC Export Cable – 175km subsea cable joint bay (including landfall) and 30km onshore, supplied and installed by NKT as turnkey HVDC power cable system for Dogger Bank A.
NKT was appointed as main contractor for the HVDC export cable systems for Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A and B, including Dogger Bank A’s OFTO transmission link. Under a turnkey scope, NKT designed, manufactured, supplied and installed the ±320 kV HVDC export cable system connecting the Dogger Bank A offshore converter platform in the North Sea to the onshore converter station and National Grid connection at Creyke Beck in East Yorkshire. For Dogger Bank A this comprised two parallel HVDC cables along an approximately 175 km subsea route and 30 km onshore route, including accessories, joints and terminations, with end‑to‑end testing and commissioning. These export cables form the core of the Dogger Bank A OFTO transmission assets, enabling first power export from the wind farm in 2023.
