On 3 February 2022, the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) published Decision No. 611/2021 approving the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System development plan for 2021–2030, which requires that the interconnection of the Dodecanese and North Aegean islands be completed by the second half of 2029. This approval provides regulatory backing and timetable guidance for all Dodecanese links, including the Rhodes–Karpathos section.
